Although Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close this Saturday, October 11th, we’re going out with with enthusiasm, tremendous advocacy, and with every intention of leaving a lasting impression on our campus and in our community.

Starting at 8am, Active Minds will be joining NAMI on Campus UCLA to volunteer and participate at the 2014 NAMIWalks at Grand Park.

The walk will display support for people affected by mental illness.

Our quarterly Speak Your Mind panel is making its return on Wednesday, October 8th, 6-8pm in Covel Commons Southbay Room.

During this engaging event, Speak Your Mind panel, UCLA students will share their personal stories about how they have been affected by mental illness.

For the Fall edition, our panel will focus on college transition and its effect on a new student and their mental health.

The speaker panel will be a safe space for students to ask questions, share their stories, and discuss mental health.

Learn how you can become a mental health advocate and take an active role in our mission to change the conversation about mental health on campus!

Join us at one of our two information sessions,6-7pm or 7-8pm on Tuesday, October 7th in CAPS Group Room B to learn more about Active Minds and get involved!

National Day Without Stigma

The first event of Mental Health Awareness Week, National Day Without Stigma will take place tomorrow, Monday, October 6th at 11am-2pm at Kerchkoff Patio.

National Day Without Stigma aims to eliminate the shame surrounding mental health by creating a community of understanding and support.

Stop by our tables at Kerckhoff Patio to get a mental health awareness ribbon, try your luck at our trivia game, and share how you plan on fighting the stigma surrounding mental health on our interactive display board!

Winter Quarter Recruitment

Not everyone has mental illness but everyone has mental health. That’s where we come in. We’re Active Minds at UCLA, one chapter of a national organization that promotes mental health awareness on college campuses. We’re also under the USAC Student Wellness Commission.
