Active Minds is a mental health advocacy group dedicated to changing the conversation about mental health and de-stigmatizing mental illness.
As the mental health committee under the Student Wellness Commission, we focus on providing information on mental health resources, spreading awareness on mental illness, and advocating for better mental health care across campus. We are comprised of four committees: Workshops, Education, Events, and All of Us. Each quarter, we hold workshops and events on campus and on the hill, as well as co-program with other campus organizations.
Active Minds is also a national organization, with thousands of chapters across the nation (and some abroad too)! Our UCLA chapter is the largest chapter.
By changing the conversation about mental health we can create a better system for supporting those who need the help, and allow for everyone to understand that we all have mental health, and should take care of it accordingly.
